Prudoe Panel Replacement

Background

Midas was approached by an Austrian-based company representing a factory in Prudhoe, Northumberland, to investigate panel damage that had occurred approximately 50m from ground level. Midas were then tasked with developing a scheme to replace the panel.

The Solution

This was a logistically challenging project. Not only was the sidewall in which the panel was to be replaced adjacent to an access thoroughfare that was required 24 hours a day, but the panel was 7m wide at a height of 50m.

Midas agreed with the client a small window in which we could gain control of the thoroughfare, during which we utilised a crane and clad-boy attachment that mechanically lifted the panels into position whilst Midas’ approved MEWP supplier operated a truck mounted platform to successfully replace the panel.
