Cladding Experts Have The Midas Touch
A fast-growing Teesside cladding company is targeting a £5 million turnover as it looks to take its industry-leading quality and safety standards across the UK.
Having recruited 15 new staff to its Teesside premises over the past 12 months, industrial sheeting and cladding experts Midas are celebrating a rebrand after achieving a turnover increase from £2.4 million to more than £4 million over the past two years.
Formerly known as Midas Cladding Services, the 21-year-old business has transformed its image to reflect an established track record of delivering a first class service to an ever-increasing range of blue chip clients.
Specialists at working in high risk environments, the Midas customer base includes prestigious clients such as SSI, Huntsman Tioxide, PD Ports, AV Dawson, ConocoPhilips, Sembcorp, Cleveland Potash, On a Roll and both Middlesbrough and Hartlepool councils.
Managing director Martin Gilbey says the new company slogan, “Built on tradition”, accurately reflects what Midas is all about, having spent the last two decades perfecting a safety-focused approach.
It is no coincidence that Midas – a company that now employs more than 50 staff from its base on Middlesbrough’s Riverside Industrial Estate - has never suffered a lost-time accident since forming in 1994.
Martin said: “This isn’t just a rebrand. The brand is catching up with the business. It’s a chrysalis and the butterfly scenario.
“Now we’ve found our niche. Built on those solid foundations of tradition, we have a new commercial emphasis. We’re a vibrant, forward-thinking company with the team to deliver a truly industry-leading service.”
Martin believes the Midas golden rules of putting quality, service and, most of all, health and safety at the heart of everything they do is the key to their future success.
He said: “It’s no exaggeration to say that we are revolutionising the cladding industry with a customer-focused culture, centred around quality, service and safety.
“Customers are genuinely surprised by our unshakeable commitment to health and safety because unfortunately the industry does not have a strong tradition in those areas.”
It’s a philosophy that looks set to ensure that all that Midas touches continues to turn to gold.
